The Town of Bluffton and Mayor of Bluffton, Lisa Sulka recognized HHCA Varsity Eagles Football team for our SCISA Region AA State Championship title at a special presentation along with a Town of Bluffton Proclamation on December 14, 2021. Thank you Town of Bluffton for this special honor and recognition!
WHEREAS, the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles completed their first full season on the school’s new campus in Bluffton with an undefeated record of 13-0 while exhibiting humble sportsmanship and the relentless pursuit of excellence both on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, the team of 47 student athletes led by Head Coach and United States Veteran Ron Peduzzi, a four-time Region Coach of the Year, along with the full coaching and support staff, defeated Williamsburg Academy 34-7 through an incredible display of athleticism on November 20, 2021, to earn the team’s second consecutive South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Region AA State Championship title; and WHEREAS, highlights leading up to the back-to-back state championship honor included playoff wins over Carolina Academy (47-0) and Pee Dee Academy (52-23); and WHEREAS, 2021 senior team leaders earned the following top SCISA regional honors: Jace Blackshear (Player of the Year), Jackson “Bulldog” Lanier (Defensive Player of the Year), Joseph “Speedy” Robinson (Co-Offensive Player of the Year), and Riley Shinn (All Region First Team); and WHEREAS, the HHCA Eagles continue to build a legacy and an exemplar culture that embodies remarkable character, leadership, and perseverance, resulting in the team’s current undefeated record of 25-0 and other noteworthy accomplishments in the program’s history such as 167 wins in 229 games, 12 region championships, 10 state championship appearances with six state championship titles, making a positive impact in the lives of many and bringing recognition and honor to our community.
